A Bit of a PEN & INK

...In which the reinvigorat'd Mister READ set about the task of CUNNINGLY REPLICATING the very STROKEs that brought him MINOR PROMINENCe & INSUFFICIENT SALEs one hundred and seventy years ago.

But, my dear friends, would the Ghost of 'the finest English Engraver of the second quarter of the 19th Century' &c. still have 'IT'?

An Eye For Optical Theory

Dear Reader(s), I have lately been absent a great deal, but with good cause as I hope ye will see. Having left down my pencil for many, many long years, I have been DRAWN to rekindle my muse, to prove to those that would condemn me to ETERNAL OBSCURITY that I am indeed an ARTIST of some note!

To this end I have fashion'd a sketch of Miss Tamsin EGERTON, an actress, the progress of which is chart'd below...

Preparation is all... but it needs something more methinks...

Neglect'd Artists Club - James DICKSON INNES

The first Rule of 'Neglect'd Artists Club' is, of course, BANG ON RELENTLESSLY about 'Neglect'd Artists Club' - I imagine ye are all quite well aware of what the second might be, but, in a slight break with Tradition, I have decid'd to put on a little viewing of ANOTHER poor wretch whose talent has for too long lain forgotten in the dingy bowels of our Galleries & Institutions -

Look to the Skies

Among th'INFINITe GLORIEs of Nature, there is surely one Phenomena above all others which, tho' ever-present & oft o'erlook'd, truly deserves the mantle of the most BEAUTEOUS & SUBLIMe form -

A Little Knowledge is an Expensive Thing

As ye might possibly have gather'd, I have made it my avow'd Intention in this curious SECOND INCARNATION to bring to an Unknowing Public the TRUe STORY of my former existence, and to dispel once and for all the CHILLING NEGLECT which has so long beset my Reputation. To this end I have resolv'd to gather as much of my Ephemera as is still extant today, the better to recall and recount my doings, both artistic and personal.
